Each one is a chain of passages joined by cross-references the data really records, every link checked before it is drawn.
The Chapter Atlas
Each arc joins two verses: 301,539 links (344,799 cross-references in all), rising over the 1,189 chapters from Genesis on the left to Revelation on the right.
Zoom all the way in
Open a chapter and its verses fan out into a row. Come close and each verse stands on its own, numbered, its links rising from it.
Pick a verse
Pick one verse and only its threads stay lit, reaching into 65 chapters of 26 books.
Follow a story
The opening of Genesis echoes in the opening of John and in the language of the letters.
Another story
A lawyer quotes the law of love; Jesus answers with a man on the Jericho road and a Samaritan who stops.
From the law to a parable
The lawyer answers Jesus with two lines of the law of Moses, Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18. The gold arcs are the links this story follows.
Chiastic structures
Open Luke 10 and, inside the parable, there is another kind of pattern: lines that answer each other in mirror order around a center.
Compassion Reverses Abandonment
A > B > C > X > C′ > B′ > A′
XThe Samaritan comes near, sees the wounded man, and is moved with compassion.
Three movements that leave the wounded man, the center, then three that undo them.
The galaxies
Arc and Xchange both read Luke 10:30–35 as a seven-part mirror; Murai reads the whole of Luke 10:25–37 as a parallel structure. Merged, the shared passage becomes one star with a ring for each source.
The structure view
Open any structure and its lines step in toward the center and back out again, a bracket joining each pair. Below it, every pair of passages is set side by side to compare.

Of the 344,799 cross-references in the dataset, 258,324 have no partner recorded in the opposite direction. A verse points to another verse, but that second verse does not point back.Direction reflects which passage an editor was annotating, not which text depends on which.
Traffic between books73,313 references join an Old Testament passage to a New Testament one. The remaining four fifths stay inside a single testament — 187,117 within the Old, 84,369 within the New.Computed across all 66 books, excluding references a book makes to itself.
Across the testamentsFifty-eight percent of Revelation's connections jump thirty books or more. Its average link spans 35 books, against 9 for Mark, the most local book in the New Testament.Distance measured in books of canonical separation.
How far each book reaches30,304 of the Bible's 31,103 verses are named in at least one cross-reference. The remaining 799 — among them Genesis 7:3, Psalm 115:6 and John 11:12 — appear nowhere in the compilation.A fact about this compilation rather than about scripture: its editors simply passed those verses over.
Pick-a-VerseViews of the same 344,799 connections. Any of them is a good place to begin — or follow the links and build a route of your own.
Every chapter on one baseline, every connection above it, chapter lengths hanging below. Hover any chapter to isolate what it touches.
Where references start on the left, where they land on the right. Genesis points to Psalms twice as often as Psalms points back.
Book totals hide enormous variation. Isaiah 53 runs at more than three times its own book's rate; the census lists barely register.
Some books talk mostly to their neighbors. Revelation's average link spans thirty-five, and nearly six in ten cross thirty books or more.
Psalms leads every raw count and is also the longest book. Divide by length and a different set comes forward — and Psalms falls to forty-fourth.
Position is density, size is length, color is testament. The two testaments separate almost cleanly, and you see it immediately.
The 73,313 links that cross between Old and New, counted from both sides. Malachi leads the Old per verse; James leads the New.
Genesis, Exodus, John and Revelation profiled against all sixty-six. Read left to right in Bible order and each has a recognizable silhouette.
5,317 verses gathered under eight headings. Each bar is one book, its height the number of verses in that book belonging to the topic.
Thirty-four threads joining a passage to the answer it finds later in scripture, laid out across the canon with the cross in the negative space.
Follow the connections wherever they lead. Every verse you look at is remembered, and the whole route can be gathered into one document to print and study away from the screen.
